Gary Firmager Humanitarian Mission to Ukraine Fundraising
Please donate if you can. Mods please pin this up top

https://gofund.me/3976a06a

Some of you may be aware that lifelong Hammers fan and founder of Over Land And Sea, Gary Firmager, is making trips from the UK to deliver aid to the people of Ukraine.

Gary is driving a van packed full of urgently needed supplies and once delivered he is buying more supplies and food to take to Lviv. He then returns to the UK, loads up and goes straight back out again.

We are asking all West Ham fans to make a donation to cover Gary's travel expenses and the purchase of additional supplies in Poland.

All money raised between 16 MARCH 2022 AND  6 APRIL 2022 will go directly to Gary.

If we raise more than our target we will ensure this money is used to fund further trips and/or is donated to similar causes to support the people of Ukraine.

ANY FUNDS DONATED TO THIS PAGE AFTER 6 APRIL 2022 WILL REVERT TO BEING ALLOCATED TO FUTURE HAMMERS UNITED OPERATIONS

I was at the Hartswood, Brentwood, six years ago after having had several lymph nodes removed from my groin and I remember that one of the nurses who was looking after me was a Ukrainian.

Lovely woman, she was. She told me all about her young family and how much they enjoyed living in Ilford.

I hope they are all safe and well and still living over here.

I used to get my Barnet cut by a really lovely Ukrainian milf in Camden (when I actually HAD hair) and she was a great laugh.

I once asked her 'I don't mean to be rude but why is it that when I see any of the old Soviet bloc countries you never see anyone smiling'?

She said 'the Russian way of thinking is that anyone looking like they're having fun must be up to something and you're encouraged to call the police on them. Don't worry, when we get home we laugh and laugh at how stupid the rules are'.

Just Imagine living like that? No wonder they'd rather take a bullet.

Top lad Gary.

I write a few articles for OLAS 2005-2007 and he was always very appreciative and encouraging. Still got a few issues kicking about.

No need for reminders, people will give what they can afford, just like I did

A polite reminder to you all.

To give this some context, it costs GF around £1,500 to do a round trip.

Please donate generously.

Just thought you could undermine the WHO fund if you broaden it to charity work. Though understand now that wasn't quite what you intended. Apologies if I came across mean spirited. Gary very worthwhile supporting.

I think the WHO fund is great thing and very rare to see people organise and support each other like that these days.

Re: Gary Firmager Humanitarian Mission to Ukraine Fundraising
Yes no problem Wils must admit my initial thought was to cover Gary’s fuel costs and him being West Ham is a big connection but looks like they may already have it covered

Re: Gary Firmager Humanitarian Mission to Ukraine Fundraising
Not sure I will put in the WHO fund again if it goes to charity appeal du jour.

I mean nothing against this particular campaign - I have given to Ukraine already and may do again. But I thought WHO fund was for helping individuals in need. Also can't know if I will be in support of the next charity campaign that comes along. Always happy to support individuals connected with the club though.
